The ClimACT training has as main goal to share knowledge and skills in order to identify problems and potential solutions for a low-carbon economy in schools, encouraging the exchange of experiences that promote behavior change throughout the school community with resources and pedagogical tools that aim to assist teachers in the teaching-learning process, as well as contribute to their curricular enrichment.
The training was directed to pre-school to higher education teachers interested in themes related to environmental education for sustainability and low carbon economy (green economy). The format of the training was a b-learning format with duration of 50 hours, and had its first edition in Portugal, between January and May 2018. “The ClimACT training was one of the best structured training I have attended, with very important support material, not only for the realization of the training itself but also to apply in the classroom context, in my teaching practice. This training with a range of very pertinent themes was very enriching for me.”

“This knowledge contributes to the improvement not only of our future interventions in the classroom, but also of the behaviors that we adopt in our day-to-day life, sometimes recklessly, that may involuntarily or voluntarily be an example for our students. The ClimACT Training Course represented a moment of good training, where I had the opportunity to listen various opinions in different areas of knowledge.”

“The ClimACT project enables teachers to be a key player in shifting the mindset that is needed to make the future better. As I did the online training, I learned many things that I did not know and that will improve my pedagogical practice in teaching sustainability.”

“The quality of the training course and the approach of the subjects in a clear, dynamic and motivating way were the most positive aspects. The online course was very enriching, corresponded to a real training need. It allowed the updating and extension of scientific knowledge in a pleasant and relaxed environment, enabling the development of competences in the environmental themes addressed. The lessons learned will allow me to improve my environmental mission in a school context.”
