ClimACT Meeting @ Gibraltar
The last ClimACT technical meeting occurred in Gibraltar, on 27th-28th September 2018, at the University of Gibraltar. The main purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the status of the project, the progress of the proposed tasks, and to discuss further tasks that will be performed. All the partners were represented, where each one showed and shared with the colleagues the status of the tasks that they are coordinating. It was a successful meeting! The open session accounted with the participation and speech of the Minister for the University, the acting Vice-Chancellor, and coordinator of the ClimACT project.
Furthermore, at this meeting was created the opportunity to record a ClimACT video, with the participation of all institutional partners. You can see the video at the home page of the ClimACT website.
This meeting was organized with the purpose to get together the technical team, but additionally to gather ClimACT teachers. A specific seminar for teachers was stablished.
Teachers meeting:
All ClimACT teachers were invited to participate in the ClimACT Gibraltar meeting with the purpose to have the opportunity to know other colleagues from the project and to work together for the planning of the final event, and other activities. In these two days, various activities were developed. In the first day, the ClimACT project was presented by the Coordinator of the project, Marta Almeida. Educational tools were shared with the audience, where teachers were included. They get information, and were clarified about the educational materials available by the ClimACT project. NGO’s had also the opportunity to share with teachers their work of action. Teachers get the opportunity to work in groups, developing ideas and concepts about an ideal school in terms of sustainability, resources management and low carbon footprint, always considering the sectors addressed to the ClimACT action. Futhermore, an open discussion with the technical team was performed in order to plan the final event.

This ClimACT coach started its trip in Lisbon, carrying all the Portuguese ClimACT team. Then, it stoped in Seville, to get teachers from Seville, Madrid and Andorra, and finally in Gibraltar. It were 9h of networking, coexist, and a good example to other!
A cultural tour was also done at the Rock of Gibraltar. Teachers and ClimACT members participated and had a great time!
